Perry, your heart is calling you to get there as soon as manageable! I loved Montreal and speak of our time there often! The Old Port area, in one of the videos, was my favorite! But Le Plateau was equally my favorite too. All of it! Great ending to your essays 🥰
So true; my heart is calling me to Montreal, where my soul will be at home. Le Plateau's Mile End is where I gew up, right around the mountain, Mont-Royal. My favourite neighbourhood.
yes Muntreal is a beautiful european city with beautiful people and can't wait to visit it again and again. thanks for the video as it rekindled awesome memories similar to my visits to sicily another beautiful place with beautiful people and food and wine and histotry....it humbles you. Brings you to tears how we don't respect our prevlige of experiecing it. emercing in its beauty. Respect life respect our place in it.
I really enjoyed that second video especially. The old port area is my favourite part of Montreal. My wife is from Korea and she enjoyed the old port area as well. She mentioned how much it seemed like 'Europe' and not like Toronto. She especially loved the narrow old street and architecture of the port area.
That video made me think back to learning French in the summer of 1997 at the University of Montreal. I remember going into a small pizza place along Cote de Neiges and attempting to order a 'slice' of pizza. I quickly realized I had no idea how to say 'slice' en francais. I walked up to the counter with an improvised:
Me: "Bonjour, pièce de pizza s'il vous plait."
Haha. The worker smiled and replied en anglais:
"Ah, you mean pointe? You can say pointe for a piece of pizza."
I cannot believe it's been decades since that experience! Good times!
Le vieux port is a beautiful area, and Iove visiting it, but it is not my favourite area. For me, it is the mountain, Mont-Royal and the surrounding area of Mile End, which is where I grew up. Thanks for your response.
Thanks Perry. I was just there 2 weeks ago. Definitely a different energy than the big smoke of hog town (the big T) on Lake Ontario. Bless you get back there soon! Your whole essence is calling you home 🙏❤️
I’ve always wanted to go there. Maybe after Nov I’ll be living there.
Wow.. This makes me want to visit Montreal! 🙂

We stayed there! Great host, amazing neighborhood :). You will return in due time. For now, you are being a very good parent. ox
This is inspiring, Perry. I hope to go to Montreal before too long. I especially hope that you will be able to return to your beloved City.
Yes, me too. Thanks for restacking.
I went to college at McGill a million years ago and loved Montreal. I'm beginning to plan a long overdue visit in my head. Thanks!
McGill engineering, also long ago. Late 70s, early 80s. Beautiful downtown campus.
I enjoyed the video and would like to visit Montreal someday ✨
I am fairly certain you will love it, Trudi.
I love France, so it’s highly likely 😊
