My Montreal, Ma Ville
It will always be home. How can it not be, when Montrealers have a flair for life? Lorsque les habitants de Montréal respirent la joie de vivre.
Yes, this is a promotional video, but it captures the spirit, beauty and magic of Montreal, the city in which I was born and raised, went to school, worked and made friends. And found beauty, happiness and joy. It is also the city that I foolishly left in 2012. But I will return.
Yes, it is true that there is the beautiful architecture, the great food, the mountain in the city centre, the jardins botanique, the many parks and green spaces, the Montreal grey squirrels, the many birds, the compactness of the city and the fact that it’s a safe walking city. All true.
There is, in addition, this video that I discovered. In it, there is one line in particular that I feel captures the feeling of the city—”Montrealers have a flair for life.” This is all the words I want to write for now. Now, please watch the videos, or even a part of each. They will show more than I can say.
Merci mille fois mes amis. Je reviendrai à Montréal.
Merci et à bientôt

Wow.. This makes me want to visit Montreal! 🙂
Perry, your heart is calling you to get there as soon as manageable! I loved Montreal and speak of our time there often! The Old Port area, in one of the videos, was my favorite! But Le Plateau was equally my favorite too. All of it! Great ending to your essays 🥰
