Humans Are The Only Animal That Willingly Destroys Their Own Home
This makes humans, without a doubt, morally and ethically deficient. The proof is undeniable. The proof is written in our history of domination and destruction. Can we evolve?
Do you know of any other animal that would intentionally destroy their home? We are the only one species on Earth that I know who clearly meets this criteria. Think for a minute about our history of domination and destruction. One of the oddest things about humans is that we continue to make and use weapons of destruction; that we engage in and normalize violence and wars; that we do not truly understand or appreciate the reality that polluting the air, earth and waters is destroying our Home Earth. This is precisely what wars do.
We are, I conclude, the strangest of all animals--homo sapiens--and a species who is so full of hubris and ignorance that we fail to understand our many failings. This makes us humans the most morally and ethically deficient of all species. And, I would add, the most dangerous. We do need to change, to move away from our ways of domination & destruction to cooperation and collaboration. Unless we do, and now, the future will remain bleak. This is serious.

I think the motivation for greed in humanity comes from realization that some fail to face: mortality. The rampant greed for more and more takes on a life of its own. Busyness and becomes business and activity is really procrastination from facing our own mortality in an honest way. One of my favourite quotes from Blaise Pascal seems to point to humanity's problems so well:
"Tout le malheur des hommes vient d'une seule chose, qui est de ne savoir pas demeurer en repos, dans une chambre."
("All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.”)
